Texas State Job Bank Security Installation and Repair Technician in AMARILLO, Texas
Job Summary The Security Installation and Repair Technician is responsible for the tasks associated with the design, installation, upgrade and repair of Intrusion Alarm Systems, Closed Circuit TV Systems, and Access Control Systems. Security Technicians will use communication, technical knowledge, problem solving and sales skills to deliver the highest level of customer service. Applicants will be trained to perform new system installations, upgrades or takeovers of existing systems, as well as service and repair systems. Experience is preferred but not required. Essential Functions Must successfully pass state criminal background check and pre-employment motor vehicle and drug screen; valid Texas Driver's License is required Must have strong computer skills and be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite Review, anticipate and prepare for each job based on work order details Perform signal verification, system testing and troubleshooting Assist customers with downloads and device configuration as needed Educate and train customers on system operation and functionality Replenish and reconcile truck stock inventory, materials, tools and equipment This job requires the technician to climb up and down ladders and house frames, into attics and walk across wooden beams constantly. A moderate level of fitness will be needed to successfully perform job duties and responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications at Entry Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the specific position. Education / Experience High School Diploma or GED Must meet contractual medical and physical requirements. Must pass a background investigation and drug test Possess a valid Texas Driver's License Must possess or be able to obtain an Alarm Installers License from the Texas Department of Public Safety Must have steady work history.
