Title: Software Test Engineer

CTG has an immediate need for a Software Test Engineer with our Fortune 50 client’s OpenPower Server, Firmware Development organization in Austin, TX.
• Duration: 3 - 6 months with likely extensions
• Location: NW Austin, TX near The Domain – MUST work onsite
• W2 only. No Corp to Corp or C2C, No 3rd Party Resumes will be Accepted
You will join a team developing the next generation of Power and OpenPower family of servers.
We are looking for a strong functional verification tester to be part of a high performing organization. The position demands a good understanding in system architecture, server hardware, experience in Linux, good knowledge in system boot process, BIOS and firmware testing.
Create Test Plans and develop test cases from the requirements & design document
Configure and execute automated test suites
Have an understanding and hands on experience in utilization of automated tools, defect management tools
Collaborate with other members effectively explaining issues/concerns and aggressively drive bug resolution
4 years B.S. or B.E in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Must have experience and knowledge of IBM Power products
Operating System background in Linux, AIX, or IBM-I - Previous IBM Power Series server experience, including P7 or P8
Experience in key hardware (HW) validation (including I/O, processors, memory)
Experience with Perl/Python or similar scripting languages
Familiarity with Test Tracking Tools (Rational Quality Manager, ClearQuest, Git Issues)
Experience with system boot process, BIOS and firmware testing.
Good communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills, self-motivator, excellent team player, leadership skills
Ability to work independently
Adaptability to work with bigger teams in a global environment
8 to 14 years of desired experience required
