About the job:

The DFAB Epitaxial (EPI) engineering team is seeking an engineer to support high volume Epi deposition process & equipment for DFAB & DMOS5. The ideal candidate will demonstrate ability of resolving or eliminating root causes by redesigning or re-configuring equipment/procedures in pursuit of improving the overall EPI deposition process.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibilities include driving improvements by identifying fail trends on tools and define actions that will either resolve or eliminate root cause of equipment failure, creating means to measure impact prior to taking actions, documenting and sharing lessons learned and fan-out

  • Maintain specifications and schedules. Install new tools and upgrade existing as required

  • Provide assistance to technicians on long down tools and process excursions. Some projects may include improving performance of semiconductor equipment to achieve process capabilities, cycle time & utilization goals

  • Collaborate with manufacturing and other organizations in defining projects that improve throughput, cycle time, equipment availability, yield and cost

Team and People Skills:

  • Work closely with equipment and process technicians to influence in a constructive manner

  • Work closely with operations teams to align equipment availability for engineering work or any support needed

  • Work closely with Product/process engineering teams to identify root cause for process yield issues

  • Work with cross module teams to identify and solve complex integration problems. Must be able to communicate and effectively work on cross functional teams

Complex Tasks:

  • Day to day problems require the candidate to think outside of the box and come up with solutions that truly improve equipment performance. The candidate will routinely improve preventive maintenance procedures and add detection means on tools to identify problems at the point of occurrence

  • Understanding of statistical control and the ability to work hands-on in solving complex problems are needed. Proficiency with MS Office suite is a must

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Chemistry, Material Science or related engineering degree

  • 3 years of related experience

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Semiconductor Processing

  • Ability / willingness to work in a team environment to the Fab goals

  • Ability to quickly gather and analyze data to resolve issues, and develop new procedures when deficiencies are identified.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects.

  • Ability to effectively deal with a dynamically changing environment.

  • Must be able to communicate and effectively work with others on cross functional teams.

  • Must be able to work with aggressive timelines and drive for timely results that meet or exceed Fab goals.

  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
