Job Summary

The technical services team for the Callier Center for Communication Disorders at the University of Texas at Dallas is looking for someone to join our team as a Software Systems Specialist III. This security-sensitive position will provide Callier Center-Dallas and Richardson faculty, staff and students with technical support for desktop computers, personal computing devices and clinical application support.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience or more than six years applicable experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related field and three years of related application support and/or desktop technical support work experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Intermediate to proficient-level experience in desktop technical support experience of Microsoft Windows/Mac OS operating systems, hardware, software and peripherals in a distributed network environment. Familiarity with IT security and encryption tools. Knowledge of Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, and remote access support and configuration tools. Ability to work on multi-project timelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance to end users for University-provided desktop computers, mobile devices, software, peripherals and network issues across a range of Windows and Mac platforms. Respond to support requests via phone, email or incident management ticketing system, as well as provide remote monitoring and troubleshooting via configuration management tools.

  • Provide technical assistance in the support for hosted applications for Callier Clinic, including but not limited to Medsynergies, and eClinical Works.

  • Administer CCure door access system for the Callier Centers.

  • Coordinate with UT Dallas central IT and Information Security staff to facilitate support for the Callier Center infrastructure, data and communication needs.

  • Maintain documentation on Callier IT departmental and information security processes.

  • Provide support on ad hoc projects and provide back-up support for other Callier IT staff.

  • This is a security-sensitive position; will work with HIPAA data, PHI data, and University account information.

  • Normal work hours will be Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Additional Information

Normal working hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. This is an exempt position and work outside normal working hours may be required when necessary. Primary office location is at the Callier Dallas campus; however, travel between Callier Dallas and Caller Richardson campuses may also be required.
