Lockheed Martin is seeking a candidate for a position in Grand Prairie, TX to support Missiles and Fire Control in the ongoing management and enhancement of environmental, safety and health (ESH) programs, regulatory compliance, and provide technical support to plant personnel and functions. Candidate will represent the organization across multiple levels of the company and demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate organization strategy and objectives.
Candidate will assist with ESH program assessments, mishap investigations and environmental incident reviews. Candidate will also be responsible for developing and delivering contractual and regulatory data deliverables; collecting and delivering various ESH metrics; supporting organizational ESH initiatives; proving customer support to employees and programs; and the development of program enhancements relative to overall ESH compliance. The candidate must be able to work on-call and varied shifts on occasion and may be required to travel infrequently.
Candidate will be responsible for: - Developing, administering, and implementing programs to maintain environmental compliance with key regulatory programs. - Managing program performance in assigned areas through effective communications, project management, and development of continuous improvement initiatives. - Providing technical direction and problem solving techniques to address emerging issues. - Collecting and presenting ESH metrics.
Primary responsibilities include: - Organize and equip spill control teams and assist with emergency response activities; - Write and update environmental and spill control manuals and procedures; - Prepare and manage environmental permits and renewals; - Track and manage pollution prevention and resource reduction programs; - Collection of water quality samples; - Aid in compliance and auditing efforts related to programs of responsibility.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. This North Central region of Texas is a great place to live and to raise a family. The region is home to numerous colleges and universities to include University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at Arlington, University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, Southern Methodist University, and Texas Woman's University. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline. - Competent with regulatory and consensus standards such as EPA, TCEQ, OSHA, ANSI, ASME, etc. - Experience managing Federal and Texas environmental programs, including CERCLA, RCRA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and general facility environmental compliance. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Computer proficiency. - Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team. - Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
Desired skills - Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited university in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related science field. - Experience in and supporting manufacturing and laboratory R&D operations, and experience working directly with supervisors and employees to address issues. - Incident investigation and data analysis skills. - Demonstrated customer oriented approach and project management skills. - Experience with ISO 14001, lean manufacturing, and continual improvement. - Certifications in the ESH profession.
