Jack Henry and Associates Technical Support Engineer in Houston, Texas
Jack Henry & Associates is seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer that will be part of the Distribution Services team which provide upgrade services for JHA's IBM i-based banking products. All JHA IBM i-based banking product upgrade processes, documentation, scheduling, training, and support are the primary responsibilities. In this role, candidates will be leading the implementation support for IBM’s Mimix product. This includes diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing systems, software and or hardware. Candidates will also provide escalation assistance to technical support representatives when needed.

The Technical Support Engineer is available in the following office locations:
Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in supporting IBM operating systems (iSeries/AS400/Power System I).
Must have IBM iSeries/Power System I/AS400) and PTF file experience.
Must be able to work a rotational on-call nights and weekends about once per month.
Bachelor’s or Associates degree in IT or CIS.
IBM Certifications highly preferred.
Mimix experience or knowledge highly preferred.
IBM BRMS knowledge highly desirable.
Single-sign on/active directory server knowledge.
EMC data domain virtual tape knowledge.
Provides technical assistance to customers. Analyzes the problem as described by the customer and determines the best course of action.
Coordinates with all appropriate departments to facilitate the achievement of all goals.
Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to software engineering, along with supporting files and examples for development to create code fixes.
Prepares test environment when necessary to simulate, document or recreate errors or problems to determine appropriate action. May perform other internal quality/usability testing.
Maintains familiarity with company products by attending training classes, observing experienced support personnel, reading software documentation, and participating in on-line training programs.
Implements new software functionality and enhancements to improve business efficiency.
Analyzes systems and configurations to proactively identify and address potential issues.
May be involved in customer installations, upgrades, and training.
