Position Summary The primary role of the intern position is to provide Instrumentation Electrical (I&E) department with day-to-day troubleshooting and support for SCADA field hardware, communications and related software. This position works closely with vendors, contractors and operations field staff on the direct support of all aspects of field SCADA equipment. Assignments will be in the Bakken and Eagle Ford Asset sites, located in Dickinson or Watford City, ND and Kenedy, TX. Typical length of our internships varies from 10 to 14 weeks based on the project and your availability. Responsibilities may include: Comply with all applicable DOT and OSHA regulations, and safety policies and procedures Performing all duties of this position with a focus on safety, environmental protection and regulatory compliance Performing installation, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment Performing and providing technical support for installation, calibration, maintenance, and repairs of instrument and electrical equipment Performing planned maintenance checks and calibration and timely submits appropriate reports Creating and responding to SAP notifications and process work orders Maintaining current and accurate documentation of maintenance activities Minimizing downtime and unsafe conditions by performing preventative and predictive maintenance Maintaining technical and administrative records, including prints and project reports Initiating Management of Change requests for proposed changes to equipment, instrumentation and programs Assisting supervisors in changing technology/budget requirements Pursuing cost reduction opportunities Driving teamwork throughout the area of responsibility Active involvement in Safety Action Plans Completing and maintaining required safety/regulatory training (CBT) Present learning at the end of internship to management Our Company At ConocoPhillips, innovation and excellence create a platform for opportunity and growth. Bakken Asset Overview The Bakken is a large unconventional resource play located in the Williston Basin of Montana and North Dakota. The Bakken play is a high profile, key growth driver for the corporation that has proven value through successful drilling over the last several years. Over the next 10 years the company has plans to exploit the 626 M acre leased and mineral position by investing $6B in development capital and peaking at 45 Mboepd of net production. Eagle Ford Asset Overview The liquids-rich Eagle Ford tight oil trend, located in the Western Gulf Basin of South Texas, represents the company’s most prolific unconventional development. At year-end 2017, the Eagle Ford held approximately 210,000 net leasehold and mineral acres, primarily in the DeWitt, Karnes, and Live Oak counties. Net production in 2017 averaged 133 MBOED, with approximately 80 percent of production from liquids. The position will be located in Kenedy, TX. Qualifications: Basic/Required: Legally authorized to work in the United States Valid Driver's License Pursuing or have completed an Associate's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics Technology and/or Electrical. Current level in college: Freshman through Senior Expected graduation date: Spring 2017 through Fall 2019 Ability and willingness to perform/comply with following: Willing and able to climb various ladders and stairs to perform maintenance on equipment. The ladders and stairs range up to 50 feet in height Willing and able to raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds Willing and able to walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material daily on even and uneven terrain Willing and able to work outside in harsh weather conditions Willing to work alone a high percentage of the time Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) Willing and able to work unscheduled overtime A minimum of ten (10) continuous weeks availability for internship Preferred: A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale Previous internships or work experience in an energy related field Demonstrates taking ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by courageously dealing with important problems, holding others accountable and standing up for what is right.
