ManTech Software System Architect Journeyman in Killeen, Texas

Provides technical direction to design and development teams, and monitors progress and productivity through the use of metrics. Must be capable of providing detailed technical support for software development programs with minimal management supervision. Must have detailed knowledge of modern software development processes, to include object-oriented development and use of tools, and how to apply them to software application program development. Must be capable of translating operational requirements into detailed software/system requirements. Must be capable of integrating COTS products into software/system architectures. Must be able to rapidly digest new tools and technologies and integrate them into existing products and processes. Must have detailed knowledge of distributed systems, and issues regarding database replication and distribution for distributed systems. Additionally, must have a comprehensive understanding of communications protocols, and be able to quickly understand the Common Operating Environment and Army Technical Architecture guidelines. Must have demonstrated ability to provide software support on a large software development effort with minimal management supervision. Must have advanced knowledge of modern software development processes and tools, and track record of applying them to programs. Have a working knowledge but not limited to NETApp hardware, Cisco hardware, Themis hardware, and Dell hardware. Be familiar with the Digital Common Ground Station - Army (DCGS-A) Family of Systems

General Responsibilities:

· Receive, log, and maintain DCGS-A software and classified materials.

· Replicate hard drives and prepare classified and unclassified hard drives for shipping.

· Set up, install, and troubleshoot software loads on various platforms of DCGS-A hardware.

· Oversee the destruction of classified hard drives.

· Provide telephonic help desk support.

· Provide detailed reports on hardware evaluations.

· Must operate in a fast paced environment with changing requirements.

· Update operating system baseline.

· Must have demonstrated ability to provide software support on a large software development effort with minimal management supervision.

· Must be capable of translating operational requirements into detailed software/system requirements..

· May travel up to 75% of the time. Travel may include hostile fire zones.

· May perform other duties as assigned.

Mandatory Skills Requirements:

· Bachelor s degree in related field and 2 years of relevant experience or an additional 5 years of experience in lieu of degree.

· Must be deployable/be able to travel.

· Must have a TS/TSI security clearance to start.

Other Skills Preferred:

· Subject Matter Experts in Command Control Communications & Computers Intelligence Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems, their employment and practical application

· Required to draw upon practical knowledge to develop Techniques, Tactics & Procedures, mentor in the practical application and system employment of DCGS-A systems.
