Keane Group Electronic Technician Supervisor in Odessa, Texas

JOB SUMMARY: Employee will manage the maintenance of electronic equipment, controls, and computers used in Oilfield operations. Primary Responsibilities include overseeing the daily activities of Electronic Technicians, maintaining proper staffing levels, maintaining proper spare parts inventories and managing the Electronic Preventive Maintenance Program.

PHYSICAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Frequent Climbing (stairs, ladders, terrain)

  • Frequent lifting (50 pounds)

  • Frequent bending, twisting and standing

  • Occasional exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions.

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts

  • Occasional exposure to fumes/airborne particles

  • Exposure to long hours

  • Exposure to high noise

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

  • Develop and implement procedures and practices to ensure electronic equipment functionality and minimize field NPT (Non Production Time)

  • Provide technical support to Electronic Technicians I, II, III and Leads

  • Oversee the technical development of Electronic Technicians in regard to Progression

  • Oversee the performance of regular and scheduled maintenance on hydraulic fracturing equipment to ensure equipment remains in good working order

  • Oversee the installation and configuration of electronic and electromechanical equipment and instrumentation

  • Develop and maintain documentation of Instrumentation Performance and Calibration Records

  • Travel to locations to assess and assist in performing emergency repairs on electronics and equipment

  • Oversee and assist in Field Projects, when appropriate

  • Interface with Manufacturers to ensure that equipment meets company standards prior to being used in the field

  • Maintain a safe work environment following all HSE requirements at all times

  • Assist in the tracking, ordering and accountability of repair parts, ready spares and consumables for the E-Tech Work Center. Learn to get quotes, pricing and purchase orders. Learn to interact with vendors

  • Maintain maintenance personnel scheduling for shop and field work

  • Display advanced proficiency at writing equipment trouble reports, record keeping and tracking those issues

  • Develop advanced solutions for solving equipment problems

  • Serve as the Electronics Lead when necessary

  • Supervise the ordering of parts, accountability and maintenance of ready spares and repair parts inventory

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

  • Clearly communicate all electronic issues and activities to the immediate supervisor

  • Interact effectively with all department heads within the district to best utilize available maintenance time and maximize equipment readiness

  • Report updates and status of equipment on the District Morning Meeting Call

  • Attend the supervisor Development program class (TBD)

  • Performs other related duties as requested

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 5-8 years of field experience

  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high level of communication with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and Management personnel

  • Ability to lead, supervise and motivate your subordinates / staff effectively

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operations instructions and policies/procedures and communicate this information effectively

  • Ability to write reports and simple correspondence and effectively communicate/present information to groups of coworkers, customers, or members of the management team

  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics to perform component troubleshooting

  • Ability to work in a positive team environment and to build teams among subordinates

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week

  • Self-starter with ability to operate independently

  • Ability to champion a company safety culture and to promote safety awareness, follow policies & procedures on quality, health, safety & environment

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of electronic test instruments and tools

  • Extensive knowledge of instrumentation such as flow meters, transducers, densimeters and controllers

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of hydraulic or hydraulic applications as controlled by electronic components and systems

  • Proficient knowledge of electrical schematics/drawings

  • Networking and Radio Communications

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • 2 Year Associates of Science Degree in Electronics or equivalent combination of experience and education

  • PEC Premier (Preferred)

  • First Aid/CPR (Preferred)
