Kforce Lab Support Engineer in Round Rock, Texas

Kforce is immediately seeking a proven Lab Support Engineer for our enterprise technology development client in Austin, Texas (TX). Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for assisting in the design of the computing infrastructure within the lab computing environment

  • Responsible for deployment of new servers and storage arrays

  • Monitor and troubleshoot the technical environment for problems

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all documented processes and procedures

  • Identify system performance issues and develop tools for better system management

  • Ensure that all services are consistently available to all end users

  • Provide technical assistance and consulting to the users if necessary

  • Complete proactive and preventative system upgrades

  • Maintain accurate hardware inventory records

  • Experience managing and servicing support tickets

  • Working knowledge of client Servers and Storage

  • Working knowledge of Windows (2012, 2016, etc.) and Linux (RHEL, SUSE, etc.) environments

  • Working knowledge of virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of computer networking

  • Working knowledge of RAID, iSCSI, SAS and Fibre Channel preferred

  • Working knowledge of NFS, CIFS, TCP/IP, Fibre Channel and associated environments highly desired

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills
