HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN in Texas City, Texas
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs Nuclear Medicine procedures to patients in the age ranges as listed: adults and geriatrics.
E1. Responsible for performing Nuclear Medicine procedures and evaluating the quality of exams done.
E2. Responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice and managing supplies and equipment on the unit.
E3. Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care.
E4. Must meet all position responsibilities for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist position.
E5. Enters appropriate charges for exams in a timely manner.
E6. Transports patients, as required, to ensure procedures are not delayed.
E7. Verifies physician's orders before starting procedure to ensure appropriateness/accuracy.
E8. Performs daily appropriate Q.C. equipment tests before starting daily exams.
E9. Adheres to and complies with the HCA Code of Conduct as part of our Ethics and Compliance program. Attends annual training sessions.
INTERACTION WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS:
Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other clinical disciplines in making decisions regarding Nuclear Medicine procedures. Works with professional and non-professional employees of the hospital and with physicians, patients and their families.
Experience: At least 1 year experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Education: Graduate of accredited school of Radiology or Nuclear Medicine Technology. Educational requirements appropriate for meeting age-specific needs of the patients. Special Qualifications: 1. Current Radiology or Nuclear Medicine registry with The Texas Department of Health and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. 2. Demonstrates current clinical competence, as outlined in the appropriate orientation checklist. 3. Maintains current clinical competence. a. Annual skills checklist. 4. Adheres to the Radiology Department's and hospital-wide customer service values. 5. Maintains current CPR certification. 6. Must have advanced certification in Nuclear Medicine by ARRT. Recent Nuclear Medicine graduates that are registry eligible may qualify - must obtain certification within six months of their hire date.
